As the name implies, screen printed fabric is processed with the help of printing process. In this technique, a mesh is used for transferring ink to a substrate, with the exception of locations where a blocking stencil has made the substrate impervious to the ink. A blade or squeegee action is used to fill the open mesh holes on the screen with ink, and when the motion is reversed, the screen temporarily makes contact with the substrate along a line of contact. As the screen springs back after the blade has passed, the ink wets the substrate and is sucked out of the mesh holes as a result.
